Why English Is Important? (Entry 11)

Why does any language become important at any age? There are probably many reasons, but I think the most important of all is for the acquisition of knowledge. The language that is most used to disseminate the latest information and scientific research will undoubtedly become the single most important language of its time.

Besides, English has also become the single most important medium of communication between different races worldwide. What do you think would be the language used to communicate between a Malay and Korean, or a Japanese and a German? Most likely it would have to be English.

English is also the most widely used language over the Internet, which has become very important over the past few years as a medium for the dissemination of knowledge and ideas. Most computer operating systems and application software also use English as their base for programming. And finally, there are many more books being published in Englsih than any other language throughout the world.

Thus, it is without any doubt that English is a very important language.

My Idol Is My Mother (Entry 10)(Individual)(Farhana Riadi)

My idol is my mother. My mother's name Rosmah binti Kadiri. She is fully housewife. She has brought us up with great care and love. She is always there for us, to help and guide us. Just being near my mother and listening to her gentle and melodic voice makes me happy.

My mother does all the household chores. Many a times has father suggested getting a domestic maid to help with the household chores, but mother would not hear of it. She feels proud be the Woman od the House as she calls herself, and finds it a pleasure to see to it that everything is done by her own hands.

She cooks for us and takes care of all our needs. She also ensures that the house is clean and neat at all times. Sometimes, we volunteer to do our part to help her. But at most, mother only allows us to make our beds, clean our rooms and set the table for meals.

Mother also helps us with our school work. She sits down with us and goes through the lessons that we do not understand. She was a teacher before my eldest brother, Rohaizat, was born and, therefore, she is a trained teacher and knows how to tutor us herself. Mother would assess our homework and point out any mistakes we had even before we had handed in our homework or assignments to our teachers.

Mother also takes the time and trouble to listen to our day's activities everyday. She would advise us on the problems we faced and would encourage us to speak out freely and express our opinions and views. Simply, there is nothing that we cannot not discuss with mother. When I tell my friends about how my siblings and I are treated at home, many of my friends said that they wished their mothers could be as approachable as mine.

I am very happy that I have such a loving and caring mother. To me, she is the best mother in the whole wide world and I love her with all my heart.

Book Review (Entry 9)

Summary of Movies Twillight New Moon, Bella is 18 (a year older than the eternally 17 year old Edward), making her desire to be a vampire even more urgent. After a disastrous birthday party, Edward and his family suddenly leave Forks and Bella behind forever. The only thing able to bring Bella back from her depression is her best friend, sunny Jacob Black. She begins to spend most of her time on his reservation, especially after she realizes that thrill-seeking activities like riding her new motorcycle with Jacob help her to remember Edward more clearly.

Still, even with her vampires gone, Bella can't avoid the paranormal. Jacob discovers that he and several other boys are next in line to defend the Quileute tribe from vampires, the "cold ones," and that, like their ancestors, they can shape-shift into werewolves. Even though the werewolf pack sometimes helps take Edward off her mind, Bella isn't finished with vampires. Clairvoyant Alice thinks she sees Bella's future disappear, and a series of miscommunications leads Edward to believe that she is dead. When he heads to Italy to end his own life, Alice and Bella arrive just in time to stop him, but end up having to face the Volturi, the rulers of the vampire world.

Once they return home, Edward, who had been just as miserable as Bella, reveals that he only left Forks because he knew how difficult her life would be if he stayed with her. Though it takes a while, Bella finally believes in the depth of Edward's love for her imperfect, accident-prone, human self.

In my opinion movies of Twillight New Moon is so amazing because it makes people feel the romance between human and vampire existence and very adorable. Besides, feeling love for Edward to Bella very strong, so Edward would die when he heard the news of the death of Bella. So I rate this movies to 5 star because this movies are very interesting and awesome for me.

Argumentative Writing About "A Talk On The Pros And Cons Of Private Tuition (Entry 7)

It is now fashionable for many Malaysian students to go for private tuition. In fact, most students feel insecure if they do not have extra tuition after school. Isn't that correct?

Extra tuition may be necessary for some of you. For example, some of you are weak in Mathematics. Without help, you may be left behind. Many of you are in classes which are large. Your teachers cannot give speacial attention to weak students. But your private tutors can.

Some teachers may seem unapproachable. Timid students feel afraid to ask questions. They don't want to look stupid. In a small tuition group, such students may feel more confident. Tutors can also afford to be more patient and allow students to take their time. They do not have to worry about completing the syllabus.

Not all teachers are experts at their subjects. Unfortunately, you cannot choose your teachers. On the other hand, you can shop around for good tutors recommended by friends. You can also change tutors whom you find unsatisfactory.

However, not all tutors are wonderful, either. Nowadays, new graduates join tuition centres while waiting for other jobs. They are not trained teachers. They leave when they find something better to do. They are not bothered about completing the syllabus before they resign, so be careful.

In addition, tuition centres exist to make profits. Classes are often large, there may be as many as twenty to a class. This means you pay for individual attention but do not get it. There have also been cases of tuition centres closing after having collected fees in advance.

Finally, extra tuition takes up too much of a student's time. A lot of time is wasted on travelling to and from the tuition centre. Some of you treat tuition classes as social gatherings. You can actually use your time more profitably on hobbies or personal revision. After attending tuition classes, you may be too tired to do your homework or your schoolwork.

I personally feel that if you pay attention in class and do your revision regularly, there is no need for extra tuition. The money you would save could be used to buy revision books or put aside for furthering your education in the future.
